Short version: without an account, your garden never leaves your device. With one, we keep only what signing in needs.

Who we are

Without an account

Your garden (names, amounts, dates, answers) is saved in your browser on this device. We can’t see it and it is never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes it.

With an account

Signing in is optional. It keeps your garden safe and lets you open it on any device. When you sign in with Google or with an email link, we store:

• your email address,
• your name, if Google shares it,
• an account ID, and when the account was created and last used.

We use these only to sign you in and to send the sign-in links you ask for. Accounts are handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. Google may store this data outside the EU, including in the United States, under the EU’s standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

While you’re signed in, your garden (names, amounts, dates and your answers) is stored with your account in Cloud Firestore, a Google service, in the EU. Only you can read it. If you had a garden on this device before signing in, it moves into your account and is removed from the device.

We use your garden only to show it to you. We never sell it, share it, or use it for advertising.

Reminders (Plus)

With Plus, we email you before a subscription renews or a free trial ends. To send them, we use Resend, an email service: for each reminder it receives your email address and the name, date and amount of what’s due. Resend is a US company and may process this outside the EU under the EU’s standard contractual clauses. Your reminder settings, and a record of which reminders were sent, are kept with your account in the EU. Turn reminders off any time from your account or from the link in any reminder.

If you get Plus

Payments are handled by Stripe. You enter your card and billing address on Stripe’s own page: we never see or store your card. To set up your subscription, Stripe receives your email address and your account ID. Stripe works out VAT from your billing address and keeps payment and tax records as the law requires. Stripe may store this data outside the EU under the EU’s standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

With your account, in Cloud Firestore in the EU, we keep your Stripe customer ID and email, your subscription (its plan, status and dates) and a record of each checkout you start. We use these only to give you Plus. Your garden is never sent to Stripe.

What stays in your browser

• Your garden, if you don’t sign in.
• Your sign-in session, kept by Firebase so you stay signed in.
• After you ask for a sign-in link: the email address you typed, until you open the link, so you don’t have to type it again.

No advertising or tracking cookies.

Analytics

We count visits and a few actions (like “a garden was started” or “a plant was pruned”) with PostHog, hosted in the EU, in a mode that uses no cookies or browser storage and discards IP addresses. These counts never include names, amounts, email addresses or account IDs, and they’re never linked to your account.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account any time: open the garden, tap your account, then “Delete account”. Your account, the garden stored with it, your reminder settings and your subscription records are removed straight away. If you have Plus, it ends at once and you’re not charged again. Stripe keeps the payment records the law requires.
• You can ask to see, correct or export what we hold about you by emailing us.
• If you think we’ve mishandled your data, you can complain to your data protection authority. In Cyprus, that’s the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.

Why we’re allowed to

Account and payment data: to provide the account and the subscription you asked for. Payment and tax records: our legal obligations. Anonymous counts: our legitimate interest in knowing whether Proon is useful, done in a way that can’t identify you.
